Three Minute Thesis Competition

Three Minute Thesis competition for research master's and doctoral students

Can you present your thesis or dissertation in no more than 3 minutes? Can you effectively engage a non-specialist audience and compete to win $2,000, including the People’s Choice Award voted on by an audience of your peers, faculty, family and friends?

The final-round 3MT competition will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in G10 Biotech. Preliminary rounds will be held in February to choose finalists. All finalists will receive Amazon gifts cards plus 90-minutes of consultation on speaking and presenting (to prep for your 3MT final round, or your job talk or an upcoming conference presentation). The Cornell winner’s video will be submitted to the regional competition sponsored by The Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools. The top two winners from that event will have their expenses paid to attend the annual conference of the Council of Graduate Schools (December 2019 in Nashville TN) to participate in a showcase of 10 North American winners of the regional events.

Please contact Mike Skinner at mrs32@cornell.edu by Friday, 2/15 to sign up.
