Jason Guss' start-up wins $100K award

Jason Guss PhD ’18 (and BESTie), along with Apoorva Kiran PhD ’17, and Pankaj Singh PhD ’17 received $100K in funding as 2018 recipients of the Technology Commercialization Growth Fund sponsored by CenterState CEO and Empire State Development for their company Orthofit to manufacture their techno-glove designed to collect data to minimize risk related to workplace injuries. The award will promote regional economic development by partnering with a  local women-owned startup, Wing and Weft, and others. Orthofit is a Rev Ithaca Works member.

Jason also won the 2018 3MT competition and was part of the E@C panel speaking on the startup ecosystem at the recent Entrepreneurship at Cornell Celebration event with two other postdocs who have also started their own businesses.
